SEC¦Looking
Ahead
The planning committee is putting the very
final touches on the registration packets for the SEC 2008 Annual Meeting. Please be on the look-out for your
packages which will be mailed from the SEC office in Atlanta no later than the
first week of February. We are
looking forward to a wonderful time of fellowship, fun, and
productivity.
If any youth and children leaders/workers are interested
in leading a workshop for their perspective group, please let the SEC office
know as soon as possible via phone (404-768-2514) or e-mail
(southeastconf@bellsouth.net).
Whether it is speaking, arts and crafts, or games, all ideas are
welcomed. It is our prayer that
this meeting will be a family event to remember.
Midwinter, 28-31 January 2008, is quickly
approaching. All registration forms
sent or post-marked by 14 December
07 are eligible for the Early Bird registration. Please send the registration forms to
Chicago, not to
the SEC office.
Brochures for the Men’s Retreat, 29 February-02 March 2008 in Norman

Over the past few months, as I have traveled around the Conference, I SEE
GOD AT WORK. God is continuing to work for the good in our lives and in the
world even when everything seems to be pointing to the bad that is happening
around us and in our world. God is at work when we see others involved in
helping the hurting and reaching the lost. We see God at work when those among
us are nurtured in their faith and being conformed into the likeness and image
of Christ. We see God at work when healing and justice from others are
intentional and reconciliation to God and to others becomes normality. We see
God at work when lives are being transformed and excitement about mission and
ministry are evidenced. For all that we see God doing, we give thanks, but we
also know that we are not to do any of what we see God doing in and through us
alone; we are bound to each other in this inescapable bond called the family of
God. We share with each other and we partner with each other to continue the
work that God is doing amongst us.
I am grateful for you, ministry partners in the Southeast Conference, for
seeing what God is doing and hitching your talents, treasures and prayers to the
work. Blessings on you this
Christmas season, and I am so looking forward to what God has in store for us in
this Conference. You all are blessings!
Merry Christmas,

A Christmas
Message
The Lord has done great things for us and we are filled
with joy! Psalm 126:3
As Christmas approaches we are truly filled with
joy at the thought of what great things the Lord has done for us! His
blessings are immense and immeasurable. What a joy it is
to have love of family, the security of our Church family's support and
the comfort of material resources and blessings He provides!
He tops it
all off with the joy of celebrating the birth of our Savior--His wonderful
Son! How blessed and full of joy we are! Take time during this
joyous season to thank those around you for the love and support they
offer, and take special time with the Lord to praise and thank Him.
Merry Christmas! - Penny Barham, Kallam Grove Covenant Church, Madison
