SEC in Review

    Plantation, FL- This past weekend, Dr. Owens had the privilege of being the keynote speaker at Covenant Village during a celebration in honor of Bob Tenglin.  After being in pastoral ministry for 34 years, serving five congregations, Bob Tenglin has retired.  Dr. Owens spoke from the topic of "The Heart of a Shepherd". Residents of the Village and others had moving testimonials of their gratitude to Tenglin for his faithfulness.  Dinner was served for he and his family to celebrate his life in ministry after the service. Bob and his wife, Judy, will reside in Ft. Lauderdale for the next year. Additionally, Bob is a member of the SEC Executive Board. The Conference thanks Bob and Judy for their lifetime of service and faithfulness.

    College Park, GA- On Tuesday, 12 Feb 2008, selected pastors and executive board members met in College Park, GA to discuss the direction of the SEC.  With Alan Forsman as the facilitator, the group participated in discussions which included the present realties of the conference, uniting the churches, and vision casting. Out of the meeting came strategic plans for moving the conference forward.  Please stay tuned to see how God has used that meeting to better the Kingdom.

Looking Ahead

    29 Feb 08-02 Mar 08- Although, the deadline for returning registration forms for the SEC Mens Retreat to SEC office has long expired, we are extending the date, as registration forms are still coming in to the office.  The extension is until 22 Feb 08.  By 22 Feb 08, all registration forms, or communication of intended participation must be received.  We cannot tie up the loose ends without a final count.  Please help us out with this by responding in a timely fashion.

    17-19 April 08- All of the SEC Annual Meeting registration packages have been officially mailed out to all SEC churches, institutions, and invited friends.  If you did not receive a package, please contact Requaya at the SEC office so that she can mail one out to your church, institution, etc.  Please take note of all dates, as they are very important.  We understand that some last minute changes may always be necessary; however we want things to go as smoothly as possible for all involved (i.e. you, the hosts, the caterers, the hotel, etc.).  We look forward to having the entire SEC family join us here in "Hotlanta".

    There will be a SEC Executive Board conference call on 04 Mar 08, at 7:30 to discuss board nominations, SEC finances, and final plans for the annual meeting.
