Conference Church Planting:

Last weekend, Dave Olson, Director of Church Planting for the ECC and Robert Owens, Southeast Conference Superintendent, conducted training for a new church plant in the Savannah, Georgia area.  New Life Covenant Church of the Greater Savannah Area is advancing in its core development and actively looking for a space for worship services to begin in the near future. Pastor Rod Sprauve and his wife, Sarah, are pleased with the progress of this new church plant effort and are looking forward to serving married couples and families. They have been in ministry for more than 15 years.  This will be their second pastoral assignment.

New Church:

Bridges is a new Covenant church located in Tavares, Florida and serves the cities of Mount Dora, Eustis, and Tavares.  The church is gearing up for its first service on Sunday November 4th.   They have been doing extensive remodeling of the Asbury Covenant Church building, and Pastor Mark is excited to see things taking shape.  Pastor Mark says “No matter what the building you have looks like, it is the people of God that make up the real church”.  God is already using this ministry to reach the people of Lake County, Florida.  One of the foremen involved in the church remodeling has asked Pastor Mark to preside over his wedding in March.  He told Pastor Mark, "I knew that a pastor who rode a Harley would be willing to talk to a guy like me".  Dozens of other people have stopped by the church and asked what is going on, seeming genuinely excited about the new church.

Through his volunteer work as Police & Fire Chaplain for the city of Mount Dora, Pastor Mark has been able to spend a great deal of time  building relationships with the women and men who serve the city.  Several firefighters have taken the time to tell the fire chief how much they appreciate having a chaplain around.  Pastor Mark is the first Fire Chaplain in Mount Dora's history.  He has had the privilege of delivering the invocation at both the Mount Dora and the Tavares city council meetings this week.   This has been a great time for people to hear the name of the new church and meet Pastor Mark.
Please continue your prayers for this work.
